Zeus Simopolis-Log 25

Things have been uneventful lately. I am continuing in the music career, and it has been fun.

Kia’s gift of the wine making machine has gotten good use. In fact, some of the wine Zelda is making is actually drinkable!

As usual, time is going by quickly. Xristos is turning into a young man!

A handsome young man too!

“Dad, I’m going to the fire station, to put in an application”, he said the night of his birthday.

“Ok. Firefighter, huh? What prompted this decision?” I asked.

“I love some of the stories you tell about being a firefighter. Plus, I want to save lives, and help people.”

“So why not the medical field, or something not as dangerous…?”

He laughed a little. “I mean no disrespect, but I don’t mind a little danger…It’s what I want to do.”

“Well you have my support, son. I just wanted to make sure it’s the right decision for you.”

By this time, my family had made quite a name for ourselves. We were brave, smart, and hardworking. Xristos got the job immediately.

I received yet another promotion and Zelda and I started celebrating by dancing.

I’ll leave it to your imagination how we ended our celebrating…

Weeks passed and Callie Rose and Amy became teenagers.

Xristos was enjoying his job.
In fact he was at the gym, performing a routine alarm check when he noticed the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Being brave, of course he approached her.

“Hi. I’m Xristos Simopolis. You must be new here.”

She giggled. “My name is Tiffani. And what makes you think I’m new around here?”

“I definitely would have met you before today.”

“Oh, really? Well…I did just move here, from Bridgeport. I’m trying to get away from the big city…”

“How about I show you around? Let’s start with dinner at the Bistro, tonight at 8.”

“I…I…-it sounds like a plan. I’ll see you at 8.”

Xristos came rushing through the front door.

“Hey! Where’s the fire?” I joked.

“Ha, ha. I have a date! I’m in a hurry!”

When he got to the Bistro, she wasn’t there. He looked at his watch. 8:00 on the dot.

She arrived 3 minutes later. Xristos’ jaw almost dropped. She looked amazing!

They ate dinner. He showed her the beach. They stopped at Privilege for a little bit. He drove her to the Sunset Valley Waterfall. By the time they came to the house, the sun was rising.

“I had a wonderful time Xristos.”

“Me too, Tiffani. Can I show you around town again sometime?”

“Anytime you want”, she said, leaning close.

He stared into her stunning orange eyes. He leaned a little closer…

She stood on her tiptoes and they began kissing.

They were inseparable.

As busy as we all were, I never forgot to show Zelda how much I loved her.

Xristos and Tiffani had been dating a while when Xristos came to me one evening. “Im going to ask Tiffani to marry me tonight.”

“That’s awesome! I am very happy for you!” I replied. She was such a sweet young lady. “You have my blessing, son. I wish you many, many years of happiness.”

“Thank you.” he said, and gave me a big hug. “Now, I have a phone call to make.”

He went to the office. “Hi, Tiffani. Can you come over?…. Great!….I have a request, will you please wear the black and orange dress you wore on our first date?…I know it’s silly, but I love that dress on you…See you soon!”

He went and got ready himself.

I heard a knock in the door.

He wrapped her in his arms.

He stepped back. He got on his knee.

“Xristos Simopolis, what are you doing?” she said.

“Tiffani, please marry me.”

“YES!” she exclaimed as he put the ring on her finger.

“Let’s get married right now.” he said. He knew she didn’t have any family…

“Ok….”, she hesitated. “Doesn’t your family want you to have a big wedding?”

“They want me to be happy. I don’t need a big wedding to be happy, unless it is what you want.”

“If I don’t have to, I don’t want to wait another minute to be Mrs. Simopolis.”

And with that, they exchanged vows.

Zelda and I hugged our new daughter-in-law, and gave them our wishes. And then they left to start their life together.

The next morning, Zelda went into labor.
